PREPOSITIONS 🌺


Prepositions are used to link words in a sentence, giving them consistency. They can come before nouns, pronouns, or adjectives.


The preposition types are:


▪️Prepositions of time

at, in, on, for, during, since, while


🇬🇧 I wake up at 7 o'clock.


🇬🇧 I've been living in Belfast for 3 years, since I moved here in 2018.


▪️Prepositions of place

at, in, on, between, inside, behind, near, under 


🇬🇧 The suitcase is under the bed.


🇬🇧 They are in the garden.


🇬🇧 Our house is behind the forest.


▪️ Prepositions of movement

to (towards), through, across, down, up, into


🇬🇧 He was slowly moving to the door.


🇬🇧 The train went through the tunnel.


🇬🇧 The ball is rolling down the hill.

without, on, off, with, about, from


🇬🇧 I can't see without my glasses.
